Type and/or model specification (6 – 8 digit in the order type number) is indicated on the heating element. The heating elements meet the requirements of standard EN 60335-1. Please, observe local regulations for installation and connection to the electric network.
For specific applications of these heating elements, consultation with engineering department of Backer Elektro CZ is necessary.
Backer Elektro CZ has over twenty years experience in the field of high loaded heating cartridges. At present, we are expanding our capacity for production of wide range of heating cartridges in various types and models.
The heating cartridges are designed for high surface density loads - over 20 W/cm2. The resistive wire made of a nickel-chrome alloy with a high thermal resistance is precisely wound around high quality ceramic parts and immersed in compacted ultra fine magnesium oxide powder. Accurately ground sheath of the heating cartridge is made of stainless steel AISI 321(DIN 4541).
The heating cartridges are available in a wide range of powers from 300 W to 1500 W.
Tolerance of diameter D: – 0.02 to – 0.08 mm.
Tolerance of length L: w 2 to w10 mm.
Recommended hole tolerance: H7.
It is recommended to insert the cartridge in a hole longer than the length of the cartridge.

Dimensions and input powers of heating cartridges according to the table above are understood under a “standard type”.
- Heating cartridges showed in the basic model are equipped by outlet pins only.
- Heating cartridges with external cable connection are equipped by leads in silicon insulation of length of 200 mm (longer leads can by also supplied, acc. to individual requirement).
- Heating cartridges with outlets protected by a flexible corrugated tube or by a sheath of flexible metal braid have outlets with glass fiber insulation with increased heating resistance (350°C as a minimum) – the length of leads and protection can be made acc. to individual requirement.
Heating cartridges can be produced for different required voltages, input powers stated in the table are valid for voltage of 230 V. May there be a requirement of another input power, voltage, length or diameter of a heating cartridge than is stated in the table, i.e. beyond the standard product range, it is necessary to consult such a requirement with specialized technicians of Backer Elektro CZ.
The electrical heating cartridges made in Backer Elektro CZ a.s. acc. to the new design with increased lifetime are produced in high quality, from first-class materials and their high-quality workmanship is one of their outstanding features.
